Description

A stimulating and strengthening formula, made especially for women who are experiencing or approaching menopause. Fem-Mate contains numerous Chinese herbs which are believed to “clear heat”, “tonify chi”, and perform other functions to help women experiencing or approaching menopause to feel more healthy and energetic.


Benefits

  • Vitex is also known as Chastetree Fruit, Vitex Trifolia, Fructus Viticis, and Man Jing Zi. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this herb is believed to “brighten the eyes” and “disperse wind” from the liver, as well as having some antibiotic properties. In China, it is prepared as a tea and used as a folk remedy for aches and pains. According to PubMed, “Chasteberry is often used for irregularities of the menstrual cycle, infertility, premenstrual complaints, and cyclical breast pain.”[6].
  • Moutan is also known as Tree Peony Bark, Cortex Moutan, Paeonia Suffruticosa Andr, and Mu Dan Pi. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this herb is used to invigorate blood circulation and “clear deficiency heat”. In China, it is prepared as a tea for women who are experiencing menopause.
  • Astragalus is also known as Mongolian Milkvetch Root, Astragalus Membranaceus, Radix Astragali, or Huang Qi. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this herb is believed to stimulate the immune system and increase metabolic rate. In laboratory experiments, it increased white blood cell and leukocyte counts in mice. In China, this herb is often used as an ingredient in soup to increase strength and energy, and ward off colds and flus.
  • Wormwood is also known as Sweet Wormwood, Artemisia Annua L, Herba Artemisiae Annua, and Qing Hao. Wormwood has long been used in Europe, Asia, and the Americas in medicinal, food, and even cosmetic products. It has been used for centuries in the treatment of gastrointestinal ailments, and modern pharmacological research has confirmed that it has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-malarial, and anti-oxidant properties, to name a few.[7]
  • Rehmannia is also known as Rehmannia Glutinosa, Radix Rehmanniae, or Sheng Di Huang. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is said to “nourish the yin” and “clear heat”. In China, teas or decoctions of Rehmannia are taken by women who are experiencing menopausal hot flashes and night sweats.

Directions
